From light fixtures and bulbs to wiring, this new infographic by Jim’s Test & Tag reveals the most common causes of electrical fires. Other most common causes of fire include cords, plugs, transformers and power supplies.

The infographic also details the percentage of deaths attributed to each cause of electrical fire. Wiring & related equipment is the biggest offender, contributing to 50% of deaths in electrical fires.

Whether you’re at home of in the workplace, electrical safety is not something you can take for granted. Always take safety precautions and regularly test your electrical equipment and safety switch to prevent the worst from happening.

Faulty electricals can not only lead to fires but can also cause severe electric shock; which can result in serious injury and even death.
