At Jim’s Test & Tag, we use electrical test tools to make sure your equipment and appliances are safe. If you run a business, you are required to test and maintain anything that plugs in within your working environment. Our test & tag technicians even perform routine checks on their own equipment to make sure you get the most accurate and safe reading on the day of testing.

Our Electrical Test Tools

At Jim’s Test & Tag, we use the latest and best industry equipment to test and tag appliances. We use portable appliance testers that allow us to carry out a number of tests on a rage of devices. With the use of one testing tool, we can perform the following range of tests:

  • Current leakage tests
  • Insulation tests
  • Portable and fixed RCD tests
  • Earth Safety tests

Our electrical testers are completely compliant to the AS/NZS 3760 standard for the in-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment. Our testing devices let us record a bunch of details about each test as well as print test and tag labels.

Label Printer

After we’ve completed a test, we will apply a durable tag to the corresponding device. This tag will have our logo on it (so you will have an accountable electrical testing provider) and the date your appliance was verified as safe to use. The tag will identify which of our technicians completed work on your device and when the next test is due. This due date will be set according to the AS/NZS 3760 standard for the in-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

Visual Checks

Before we use any equipment, we always carry out a visual assessment. Only a trained professional can perform this part of an electrical test. One of our test and tag technicians will check the leads and the outside of your device (or appliance for any signs of damage). They will also check any labelling specific to your piece of equipment and make note of any existing test tags.

Log Books

One of the most important electrical test tools a Jim’s Test & Tag technician uses is the log book. You need to get an accurate copy of all the results from the tests we conduct so that you can prove your compliance to workplace safety standards. Our team members record every part of every test in their log books and provide you with a detailed test report at the end of your appointment. This report will also include a re-test date for each appliance. You’ll be notified when your next electrical safety checks are due thanks to our free reminder service.

Customer Service

Every Jim’s technician needs to have great customer service skills in their tool kit. We genuinely care about safety in your business and we encourage all of our team members to form ongoing relationships with clients. If you have any questions or concerns about the electrical equipment being used in your business, get in touch today. We’d love to help you stay safe with a smile.

Testing Electrical Tools

Now that you know what is involved in our testing processes, you should contact us and ask us to inspect your electrical equipment. One of our most popular services is portable appliance testing. This could be any number of devices in your workplace – from kettles & power boards to electric drills & cleaning equipment. Anything that plugs in, and is used at work. needs to be tested regularly to maintain safety.
