Jim’s Test & Tag has always been passionate about helping the community, and this value is aptly represented by our very own Bruce Collins of Gippsland, Victoria.
Bruce is a long-time volunteer at SecondBite, a not-for-profit organisation that redistributes surplus fresh food to community food programs around Australia.
While SecondBite provides access to fresh, nutritious food for people in need across Australia, Bruce supports them pro bono by offering free testing and testing services at their Kensington office and warehouse.
SecondBite rescues and redistributes surplus fresh food, building community capacity in food skills and nutrition and advocating for an end to food insecurity. Food is donated by farmers, wholesalers, markets, supermarkets, caterers and events.
This high-quality surplus food is redistributed to community food programs that support people who are homeless, women and families in crisis, youth at risk, indigenous communities, asylum seekers and new arrivals.
SecondBite has an established research team that is committed to furthering our understanding of food insecurity in Australia, and they continue to develop programs that provide long-term preventative solutions to the issue of food insecurity in Australia.
