What Is Test & Tag?
Home » Why Test and Tag? » What Is Test & Tag?
Test and Tag is the process of checking all electrical tools, leads and appliances to ensure that your business remains safe for you, your employees and others according to workplace OH&S requirements and Australian Standards.
Jim’s Test & Tag provides a mobile onsite service to tradesmen, construction sites, retailers, offices, etc.
Our mobile units are fully self-contained and able to deal with all workplace conditions.
We begin our testing by performing a visual check of power tools, appliances and extension leads to ensure that there are no cracks in casings or nicks in leads and that the equipment is in good condition and appears safe to use. The visual check is complemented by a series of electrical tests performed on Seaward Supernova Portable Appliance Tester (PAT). The PAT is a state of the art tester with inbuilt tolerances that ensures integrity in our process.
Compliance is not only about doing. It is also about being able to prove compliance and Jim’s Test & Tag provide a fully documented logbook that demonstrates every test conducted and the physical results of those tests. These reports can be provided in hard copy or electronic form.
Testing Intervals
How often you should conduct testing of your equipment depends on two factors: the environment your workplace is classified under and the class of your equipment or appliance. Testing intervals are detailed in the Standard AS/NZS 3760:2003 with allowances made for differing situations and locations. Intervals range from every six months up to five years. Please contact us to discuss your required testing frequencies. |
